Clinical Research Coordinator

The Clinical Research Coordinator will support childhood obesity prevention research in the Center for Healthy Weight and Nutrition Equity at Mass General for Children, including: A randomized controlled trial (RCT) that seeks to evaluate if a pediatric intensive health behavioral and lifestyle treatment (IHLBT) intervention reduces BMI and improves asthma outcomes when delivered via telehealth. A pilot randomized trial studying a physical activity intervention for early adolescent girls and impact on health outcomes. The Clinical Research Coordinator will be primarily responsible for completing participant recruitment, enrollment, and consent, study activity scheduling, and conducting baseline and follow-up surveys in English and Spanish via telephone and email as well as some in-person visits on site at MGH. They will be responsible for entering study data into REDCap databases and assisting with other study operations. The Clinical Research Coordinator will report to the Senior Project Manager. Following established policies, procedures, and study protocols, provides assistance on clinical research studies, including recruiting, evaluating, and consenting patients for studies; collecting and organizing patient data; scheduling patients for study visits; performing clinical tests such as phlebotomy, EKGs, etc.; maintaining and updating data generated by the study. Candidates who are in the process of completing their bachelor's degree have a grace period of six months from their hire date (up to 1 year if starting per diem) to provide degree equivalency verification. Does this position require Patient Care? No Essential Functions: Reviews proposals for compliance with sponsor and organizational guidelines; verify all sponsor requirements are met. Recruiting patients for clinical trials, conducts phone interviews. Verifies the accuracy of study forms and updates them per protocol. Prepares data for analysis and data entry. Documents patient visits and procedures. Assists with regulatory binders and QA/QC Procedures. Assists with interviewing study subjects. Assists with study regulator submissions. Qualifications
Education Bachelors Degree Science required Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? Yes Licenses and Credentials Experience Some relevant research project work 0-1 year preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Careful attention to detail and good organizational skills.
