The Department of Pediatrics employs nearly 1,000 faculty and staff who work alongside employees of Riley Hospital for Children and students at Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) to make Riley Children's Health Indiana's largest and most skilled pediatric system. Job Summary

The Pediatric Senior Residency Coordinator, in conjunction with the Program Director, performs managerial and advisory duties related to planning, directing and coordinating academic and operational activities of the pediatric residency program and coordination with the combined pediatric residency programs and pediatric fellowship programs. The residencies have a combined total of approximately 180 residents annually.

Department-Specific Responsibilities Oversees activities of staff and faculty participants of residency program team. Acts as liaison between residency and off-site educational activities, affiliated hospitals and medical school and other agencies, organizations and groups including but not limited to education commissions, accreditation councils, licensing organizations and medical specialty boards. Represents IUSM Department of Pediatrics through participation in residency coordinator activities through the national Association of Pediatric Program Directors. Leads of the Pediatric Residency Team. Improves the ongoing quality of administrative duties. Plans program and develops academic and clinical requirements to assure that accreditation standards are maintained. Utilizes Information and Data Management for technology systems to support the residency program (MedHub, Canvas, etc.). General Responsibilities

Identifies areas for programmatic improvement and develops and implements initiatives to address weaknesses. Establishes program-specific policies and procedures for candidate recruitment. Acts as a liaison between internal and external constituents; develops and manages external relationships with medical community. Creates research opportunities and tracks progress ensuring learning opportunities for students and residents. Responsible for logistics of the student and resident program. Counsels residents concerning board requirements, adjusting schedules to meet requirements. Constructs action plans and puts in place processes for managing performance expectations in the unit based on goals and deadlines. Ensures the maintenance of all relevant program accreditations. Qualifications

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

Advertised Salary

The annual salary range is $60,000 - $70,000 based on a combination of experience, skill level, education, and training.
