PGS Worldwide is actively seeking an
Assembly/Paint Technician
for a
6-month contract-to-hire position in Austin, TX . The selected candidate will focus on precision paint application, touch-up, and masking in support of aerospace and defense assemblies. This role requires strong attention to detail, blueprint reading skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment.
Required Qualifications
Experience with
assembly and precision paint/coating application Ability to perform
masking and touch-up
on small assemblies Familiarity with
Microsoft Office
and ability to communicate via computer systems Ability to read and interpret
assembly drawings, blueprints, and process sheets Experience using
measurement tools
such as scales, micrometers, and calipers Strong written and verbal communication skills Commitment to meeting
safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets Preferred Skills
Prior experience with
media blasting, stenciling, or chemical coatings Aerospace, defense, or high-reliability manufacturing background Experience applying coatings where thickness and dimension tolerances are critical Position Responsibilities
Apply
chemical coatings
and perform
paint touch-up
on assemblies Prepare surfaces of machined and sheet metal parts by
cleaning, stripping, abrading, sanding, and masking Use
hand and power tools, jigs, masking aids, and saws
as required Precisely mask "keep-out " zones and apply coatings to critical tolerances Perform
stenciling, unmasking, and finishing operations
per process requirements Use PPE (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection) while maintaining a safe work environment Work independently to meet
production rate and quality goals
