Elara Caring (Tulsa, OK)
How do you "vigil" and what does this mean? It is very important to us that our patients do not have to spend their final moments in this world alone. For this reason, we have staff that works around the clock to provide care at any hour of the day. Our team consists of volunteers who help us meet our goal of providing superior care. Some of our volunteers are what we call a "vigil" volunteer. This type of volunteers sits with patients during their final hours to provide them with comfort, so they do not have to die alone. Volunteers’ vigil with patients on their deathbed by providing patients with physical, emotional, and spiritual comfort through holding their hands, playing music, talking to them, or simply by being in the room with them.
Come be a Night Angel with us and help offer comfort to our hospice patients in need. You will walk away from this experience knowing that you made a meaningful difference to someone in their time of need.
