HTI is searching for an experienced

Quality Engineer

for a

6-month contract opportunity

with a Tier-1 automotive supplier in the North Charleston, SC area ( Summerville, SC ). This is a full-time, onsite, direct hire position. Pay depends on experience and education, and the range is

$38.00 - $43.00 / hour.

Requirements: Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Engineering Must have experience with APQP, PPAP, new product launch, customer quality/claims processes, and measurement system analysis At least 3+ years of recent experience as a Quality Engineer in the manufacturing industry handling the job duties listed below Experience with an automotive supplier, or other similar high-volume, automated manufacturing plant ERP system experience; SAP strongly preferred Knowledge of metrology, standard gauging practices, and gage and test equipment Statistical Process Control (SPC), FMEA, quality audits, corrective actions (CAPA) and ISO/TS 16949 experience Familiarity with friction welding, balancing, and paint processes preferred Must currently be located in the greater Charleston, SC area MUST be eligible to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship (now or in the future)

Job Duties:

Analyze component and finished goods issues, recommend corrective actions, and participate in cross-functional team efforts to solve quality issues Monitor customer portals based on assignments including PPAP, customer claims and customer scorecards Identify problems related to machining processes, assembly methods and processes Develop quality procedures, control plans and inspection plans Provide technical expertise in product development projects, design reviews, verification, process validation and manufacturability involving R&D, Product Group, Procurement, Manufacturing and other departments Coordinate quality objectives with other departments and support them in achieving compliance with BOS Compile product and process validation documentation per requirements (PPAP) Analyze product/part assembly concerns, and audit parts to verify specifications and tolerances Coordinate problem solving efforts using problem solving tools including 8D, 5Y, Ishikawa Support quality audits (internal, external and customer) Hold and/or stop product shipments if it does not conform to quality requirements
