The Opportunity:

This professional will work in a senior-level engineer capacity performing all aspects of conventional design engineering and analysis. You will have the opportunity to work on a slated two-year Hydrocarbon Processing (HPI) project encompassing petroleum refining, gas processing, petrochemical, and chemical technologies. There is also potential to work on projects encompassing other areas of process such as hydrogen, ammonia & fertilizer, new energy, and LNG. In this role, you will:

Work in new areas of energy such as hydrogen, ammonia, and other new energy technologies Explore various technologies within the process space to expand your skillset and knowledge Key Responsibilities:

Engineering Standards:

Proactively provides guidance and direction Interpreting, applying and providing direction to larger assigned tasks May own the maintaining, updating, and developing engineering standards Provide technical guidance to others regarding projects or disciplines Establishes related processes, and promotes a culture that is conducive to quality Supports continuous improvement, change management and risk management efforts Accountable for managing engineering design-related aspects of complex project(s) or small multiple projects, including engineering schedule and budget performance, quality of engineering solutions and deliverables, and coordination of design, procurement, and construction Orchestrates all technical aspects of complex projects and makes project engineering execution decisions within the bounds set by applicable policies, standards, guides and contract commitments Lead production teams; coordinating multiple discipline activity; and serving as the responsible charge for projects Actively coordinates with all other internal/external team members on complex projects Coordinates project schedules for multiple disciplines Determines identification of key client interests and drivers on projects Communicates client interests and drivers to project team members and develops approaches to accommodate these concerns in the performance of the work on complex projects Identifies future client needs and how to better position Black and Veatch for the future Provides support to business development or pursuit activities Serves as the senior level technical specialist in a broad area of specialization, or in a narrow but specialized field Develops and applies advanced engineering concepts and approaches to unique engineering problems Function as an industry expert, participating in professional societies by presenting papers, acting as a section lead for a large or complex specialty area, an engineering consultant for larger scale projects Often supports a division chief engineer or top engineering management, and is accountable for discipline-specific engineering processes People & Resource Management:

Provides direction to a small size group Oversees performance management, career planning, recognition, learning and development May participate in compensation management, succession planning, disciplinary actions, employee relations and workforce planning Influences and implements resource management strategy Manages engineering resources for small size and/or less complex group, typically involving one line of business or discipline Staffing, recruiting, budgets, tools and/or processes Resolves resource conflicts and identifies training needs Ensures policies, procedures, and processes are effectively developed, implemented, and communicated for workgroup Ensures adherence to corporate and division programs May approve timesheets and expense reports Management Scope Factors:

Pending nature of role, scope of influence may include a significant-size group May Influence costs, productivity, or competitiveness Geographic responsibility may be for 1+ offices or a small region Typical scope involves less complex business line or technology responsibility and/or less complex discipline responsibility Supports mitigation of risk related to projects/technologies Preferred Qualifications:

Experience as an electrical engineer in the process, oil & gas, new energy, ammonia & fertilizer, LNG, floating LNG, or hydrogen generation spaces. Working knowledge of the NEC (NFPA 70 National Electrical Code). Experience with at least 3 of the following:

Hazardous Area Classifications as defined by the NEC. ETAP or SKM Electrical system analysis modeling software. Industrial power distribution system designs including MV and LV switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, power distribution transformers, batteries and UPS.

Protective relay settings and equipment sizing calculations associated with power distribution equipment. Building Effective Teams Advanced knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards related to assigned engineering discipline Minimum Qualifications:

Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing Minimum of 15 years related work experience All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
