Purpose of the Job:
A Fabricator is responsible for studying detailed schematics of complex machinery, using both hand and power tools proficiently to fabricate and assemble components. Technical knowledge acquisition is essential for troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading industrial equipment, as well as conducting OSHA-inspections and documenting findings. Welding expertise, including MIG, TIG, and ARC methods, is utilized for metal joining. Verifying dimensions and adhering to product specifications, maintaining production schedules, and conducting rigorous quality checks to uphold safety standards are integral to the role. Additionally, responsibilities include stress testing products, reporting malfunctions, and collaborating effectively within a team environment. Operating fabrication equipment for metal shaping, machining responsibilities, and ensuring compliance with company policies, especially in safety and customer service, round out the responsibilities for this multifaceted position.
Responsibilities:
Read detailed schematics for complex machines
Use hand tools and power tools to trim, cut and fit components into the final product.
Gain technical knowledge and skills.
Troubleshooting, repairing, inspecting, and upgrading industrial equipment.
Perform OSHA inspections and generate inspection reports and repair orders.
Communicate with the Service Manager during the day so that work can be scheduled and completed on a daily basis.
Weld or join metal components together using various techniques and methods including MIG, TIG, and ARC welding.
Verifying dimensions and product specifications.
Maintaining a production schedule.
Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet safety and quality standards.
Troubleshooting and stress-testing products to minimize problems or recalls.
Reporting and detailing product malfunctions.
Maintain the ability to work with others in a team environment as required.
Ensuring that all parts are properly fitted, aligned and screwed in.
Cut, bend, and shape metal components using a range of fabrication equipment such as saws, lathes, drill presses, and grinders.
Find faulty components in defective products to fix them
Load and unload trucks
Machining responsibilities
Responsible for moving equipment, including operating a forklift
Adhere to all company policies including safety, appearance, and customer service.
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Must be a Certified Welder
High School Diploma or GED
Experience with basic hand tools
Exceptional customer service skills
Expertise in welding techniques and procedures including MIG, TIG, and ARC
Must be willing to work off the ground at various heights
Must have basic computer skills
Must be able to communicate well with others and work independently or as a team
Proficiency in operating heavy machinery.
Good dexterity.
Attention to detail.
Good organizational skills.
Specialized certification .
