Position Overview

The Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting the successful delivery of services to eligible participants enrolled at Miami Dade College. This position coordinates day-to-day campus-based operations of the program, ensuring program compliance, student support, community outreach, and alignment with institutional and grant objectives.

This is a temporary grant funded position through December 31 year 2025 contingent upon grantor funding and grant extensions.

This grant position will be eligible for participation in the Florida Retirement System (FRS) after 6 consecutive months of continuous employment.

What you will be doing • Serves as the primary campus contact for the program participants, providing information, guidance and referral services regarding educational, vocational and support resources • Manages the intake, eligibility screening, registration, and orientation of new students in accordance with federal and state guidelines • Monitors student progress and supports retention through case management, academic advising, and ongoing needs assessments • Collaborates with instructional staff to ensure student success in English language, vocational, and workforce training programs • Ensures scheduling of classes and computer lab sessions and provides notification of changes of schedules or class cancelation to staff, faculty and students • Coordinates with external community-based organizations and partner agencies to connect students with wraparound services such as legal aid, childcare, transportation, and employment support • Monitors student attendance and reports any problems to program administration, collects weekly student attendance records, mid-term reports and final grades, and submits to program administration accordingly • Plans and facilitates workshops, campus events, and job readiness activities aligned with the program's objectives • Maintains accurate student records, files, and data entry in program databases for compliance and reporting purposes • Prepares reports, assessments, and documentation as required by the grant and college administration • Participates in college-wide meetings, community outreach efforts, and training • Supervises campus-based support staff and/or student assistants, if applicable • Performs other duties as assigned

What you need to succeed • Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and five (5) years of experience in related field with a minimum of three (3) years as a supervisor in an education program to include some teaching experience; or Master's degree and one (1) year of experience in related field as a supervisor in an education program to include teaching experience • Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures • Possess excellent effective communication skills (Verbal and Written) • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database computer applications • Ability to demonstrate a courteous professional decorum and a positive attitude • Ability to work well with students, faculty and staff
