TRUMPF is seeking a self-motivated Purchasing Intern in the Non-Production Material team who is ready to apply their analytical skills in a fast-paced and professional business setting. The intern will lead or support multiple cost savings and negotiation projects within various commodity groups. This internship will provide the student exposure to real-world business problems and also give them the opportunity to hone their problem-solving and communication skills.

This internship will onsite from January 2026 to August 2026. We will ask that you work at least 32 hours per week

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Preparing bid comparison sheets and supporting price negotiations with critical suppliers

2. Preparing, executing, and analyzing data from requests for quotes in Non-Production Material (NPM)

3. Working with cross-functional teams on cost savings projects to gather department requirements and preparing bid specification sheets

4. Supporting commodity group strategies for NPM commodity groups such as IT, Marketing, Facilities Management, Logistics, Energy, etc.

5. Using SAP for data collection, invoice resolution and purchase requisition approvals to support the local NPM team

6. Improving purchasing processes within NPM commodities by supporting catalog development, process standards, etc.

Education, Experience and Knowledge :

1. Business management or industrial engineering background with an interest in commercial topics

2. Enjoys working in multi-functional teams, comfortable in a fast-paced environment, and interested in technology offered by TRUMPF

3. Organized, goal-oriented, analytical, dedicated to improvement, self-motivated, and open-minded
