Cost Project Control Specialist II

Pay Rate:

$51/hr (W2) Location : Hybrid; Houston, TX Schedule:

Full-time, standard business hours (Monday–Friday)

Position Overview

We’re seeking a Cost Project Control Specialist II to join a dynamic project execution team. This role supports the development, monitoring, and control of project budgets, costs, and forecasts. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to strengthen their knowledge of project cost control in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Budget Development & Management: Help transform project estimates into structured budgets and ensure alignment with scope, schedule, and resources.

Commitment Tracking: Monitor purchase orders, contracts, and commitments to ensure they remain within approved budgets.

Change Management: Assist in documenting scope changes, evaluating cost impacts, and updating budgets/forecasts as needed.

Forecasting & EAC (Estimate at Completion): Contribute to cost forecasts, analyze expenditures, and support variance reporting.

Reporting & Analysis: Prepare cost reports and dashboards, track trends, and identify risks or opportunities.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to maintain accurate cost data.

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, or related field.

2–5 years of experience in cost control, project management, or a related function.

Strong Excel skills; ability to analyze and interpret financial/project data.

Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team setting.

:

Familiarity with cost management tools (Primavera, Procore, etc.).

Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM).

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt quickly.

Work Environment

Primarily office-based (hybrid eligible).

Occasional travel to project sites (approx. 5–10%).

Stable full-time role with opportunities to grow in project cost management.
