$ 65,000 - $80,000 No C2C or third-party vendors at this time Ledgent Technology is partnering with a local managed service provider to identify a skilled Network/VoIP Engineer with strong expertise in networking and VoIP technologies. This role will focus on delivering reliable, secure, and efficient managed voice and networking solutions for a wide variety of clients. Responsibilities
Collaborate with customers, colleagues, and vendors to diagnose issues and design effective technical solutions that align with business needs. Troubleshoot and resolve VoIP-related problems including call quality issues, SIP trunking, QoS, phone features, and application-level concerns. Support, configure, and maintain phone systems, gateways, routers, switches, and related devices while ensuring minimal downtime. Provide proactive communication and service updates to clients and internal teams, maintaining a customer-first approach. Create user-friendly training materials, conduct training sessions, and support non-technical employees in adopting new systems. Lead and execute assigned projects end-to-end, including requirements gathering, diagnostic evaluation, project planning, network hardware procurement and installation, onsite device setup, testing, and system maintenance. Administer and maintain security processes on networks, firewalls, and voice platforms, ensuring compliance with best practices and industry standards. Monitor system performance, identify potential risks, and implement preventative measures to ensure optimal uptime and reliability. Document system configurations, updates, troubleshooting steps, and project deliverables for future reference and knowledge sharing. Requirements
Minimum
3+ years of professional experience
with networking technologies, with a strong emphasis on
VoIP solutions
(e.g., SIP, RTP, QoS, call routing). Hands-on experience in a
managed services provider (MSP) environment , supporting multiple clients across varied infrastructures. Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, and routing protocols. Experience configuring and supporting
VoIP platforms and PBX systems
(e.g., Cisco, Avaya, Mitel, 3CX, or similar). Familiarity with
firewalls, switches, and routers
from vendors such as Cisco, Fortinet, or Palo Alto. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong organizational skills. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users. Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Industry certifications (e.g.,
CCNA, CompTIA Network+, VoIP certifications ) are a plus. Desired Skills and Experience
