Job Title: Material Control Operator
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Material Control Operator who will be responsible for accurately managing and maintaining the inventory information for our material stock. In this role, you will organize and oversee the inventory of company products across multiple branch locations, working collaboratively with a diverse team.
Responsibilities
Operate sit-down forklifts, order pickers, and side-loader forklifts.
Conduct inventory control and cycle counting duties.
Enter data for inventory into a computer system and record it manually using a clipboard.
Load and unload metal materials (raw materials) both manually and with a forklift.
Complete material receiving activities for shipments between locations or direct from the mill.
Coordinate movement of material from stock to processing to support production requirements.
Operate material handling equipment as necessary to support the movement of material.
Perform accurate and timely data entry within the inventory management system regarding material movements.
Prepare and maintain appropriate inventory identification tags.
Complete material consolidation tasks, including supermarket.
Identify material shortages and issues and communicate them to the appropriate staff.
Perform verification of scrap.
Maintain a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail in all work.
Assist the quality assurance team in activities related to credits.
Perform equipment preventative maintenance and clean-up.
Essential Skills
1.5 years of forklift operation experience.
Basic data entry skills on a computer to track inventory.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand fluent English and perform basic math problems.
Basic computer skills for data entry into the inventory management system.
Ability to use a tape measure and calipers for material inspection/measurement.
Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in written work and data entry.
Certification to operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, side-loaders, 4-directional lifts, or cherry-pickers.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Preferred: 3 years of material control or inventory experience.
Previous experience safely operating a variety of material handling equipment.
Strong attendance and work history with regards to tenure.
Attributes include attention to detail, ability to work on your feet, and good with paperwork and chain of custody.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Auburn, Washington.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.70 - $22.70/hr.
