Senior Quality Assurance Specialist

MSTS is currently seeking an experienced Senior Quality Assurance Specialist in support of ongoing Quality programs, projects, and activities at the Nevada National Security Site and the North Las Vegas facility. Key Responsibilities

Assist in the development and administration of the Quality Assurance Program and implementing procedures to meet applicable quality codes and standards. Assist in preparation of long-range plans to implement the quality program in response to new missions. Work with project, line, and satellite organizational department representatives, supervisors, and managers on matters related implementation of procedures and work practices to ensure conformance to the Quality Assurance Program, management systems, codes and standards, and federal requirements. This includes work related to deliverables and major milestones. Recommend corrective actions and assist in the closure of non-conformities identified through the corrective action and nonconformance processes to provide process improvements. Generate non-conformance reports and issues in support of facility and project operations. Serve as the Records Coordinator/Custodian, Property Custodian, and Requisition preparer. Provide administrative support to prepare various records for upload to the electronic records management system. Serve as the Document Control Coordinator and provide technical editing services as requested. Serve as the alternate corporate Suspect Counterfeit Item (SCI) Coordinator, support the DOE SCI working group, review data sources to prevent the introduction of SCIs, and support the performance of SCI investigations. Serve as the alternate corporate and DOE Lessons Learned Coordinator, working with facility and project personnel to develop and publish Lessons Learned in support of the Lessons Learned program. Also support management and maintenance of the OPEX database. Prepare news articles or alerts to inform line organizations on various knowledge shares. Work with the training organization to process training and qualification needs of the organization and assist in developing and/or presenting quality assurance, suspect/counterfeit, and lessons learned training. Support development of web-based training needs of the department. Support requisition compliance reviews for new or upgraded software packages as well as reviewing software grading for acceptance and adherence to company policies. Provide interface support with Information Technology (IT) and Engineering on software related matters. Conduct research, compile and analyze data and produce reports. Support QA related assessments and surveillances. Oversee implementation of QA policies and procedures. Manage and modify the organizational quality assurance metrics and associated websites. Qualifications

Due to the nature of our work, US citizenship is required for all positions. Bachelor's degree in a Technical field related to the position or equivalent training and experience, plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. Ability to implement quality and safety programs in a fast paced technical environment. Ability to support quality or safety procedure and process development and a background in supply chain activities are desirable. Should have expert knowledge of 10 CFR 830, DOE/NNSA Weapons Quality Policy NAP-24A, ASME NQA-1, ISO 9001, DOE Order 414, and ASME AG-1. Should have an understanding working knowledge of DOE authorization basis and nuclear safety requirements. Must have demonstrated leadership qualities, the ability to work under minimal supervision, ability to multi-task; and be highly organized to guide a quality and safety team through a fast paced, changing, technical work environment. Should possess advanced computer skills necessary to navigate through the corporate software suite. Must have demonstrated technical writing ability to compose clear technical correspondence, reports, and other internal communication. Must be able to utilize independent judgment, creativity, initiative, and ability within area of control to apply knowledge and experience to resolve problems and accomplish goals where established procedures may not exist. Must possess excellent interpersonal and teaming skills and the ability to deal with people in a tactful, professional, and effective manner while maintaining confidentiality. Ability to direct a team in the performance of organizational support for quality and safety. Must be able to prioritize and schedule multiple activities and work assignments. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with all types of people in a tactful, professional, and effective manner while screening and maintaining confidentiality. High degree of accuracy required in writing technical documents and ensuring Company policies and procedures are implemented. Knowledge of material control and receiving inspection operations is desirable. Ability to obtain various quality qualifications is required. Ability to work under limited direction. The primary work location will be at the Losee Road facility in North Las Vegas, Nevada. Work schedule for this position will be 4/10's, Monday Thursday (subject to change). Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Must possess a valid driver's license. MSTS is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants offered employment with MSTS are also subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified information or matter if the duties of the position require a DOE security clearance.
