VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR Status: Full-time, 40 hours per week Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday Reports to: JUFS Director Compensation: $22-24/hr Position Purpose: The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for developing and facilitating Joyce Uptown Foodshelfs volunteering program. This includes managing over 200 volunteers a year across more than 60 shifts per week. Responsibilities include volunteer recruitment, training, tours, creating new volunteer opportunities, volunteer acknowledgments, and volunteer supervision. This role also supports all aspects of the food shelf, from cleaning and restocking to collecting food at local grocery stores, assisting with daily shopping operations, and helping with food drives and fundraisers. Responsibilities Oversee volunteer program operations including recruitment, scheduling, training for all volunteer roles, maintenance of contact information, communication with current and potential volunteers, and ensuring compliance with food and distribution training. Maintain job descriptions and manuals for all volunteer roles. Develop and offer trainings on topics relevant to the volunteer experience. Perform various operational duties as needed including answering the telephone, data entry, data reporting, greeting clients, volunteers and donors, accepting donations, assisting with fundraising projects and community events, and more. Provide tours to prospective volunteers and other community partners. Assist with the food shelfs summer produce garden. Assist with the organizations social media presence. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Authorization for employment in the U.S. Valid U.S. drivers license and good driving record. Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask. Customer service, telephone and computer skills. Self-motivated, proactive and able to work in a changing environment. Willingness to help in all areas as needed. Ability to lift at least 40 lbs. Regular lifting and moving items is a requirement of the position.

*A background check and driving record check are required for this position, but results are not immediately disqualifying. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with and supporting volunteers. Experience with community outreach. Conversational Spanish or better. Interest in food, food systems, and cooking. Has vehicle.
