Akima is looking for a Systems Administrator to work in Huntsville, AL. This position will function as part of a team that provides Windows server administration, performs upgrade and system testing, server hardware/software maintenance, patching, and troubleshooting, server/application backups, and compliance documentation. In addition, this role provides direct support to enterprise end-users in a timely and professional manner.
This person will work directly with management and engineering team peers, ensuring compliance with IT security policies and best practices. An ideal candidate will have a solid work ethic and the communication skills necessary to convey technological guidance. Professional, dependable attitude that is oriented towards customers, and a cooperative and positive spirit in working with other team members.

Responsibilities
Design, build, and manage enterprise baselines in a multi-tiered and highly available framework.
Troubleshoots complex network problems associated with hybrid applications and databases.
Works with security response teams during security incidents and participates in site security audits.
Performs on call duties on evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
Good communication and interpersonal skills while interacting with end users.
Good writing skills capable of creating process and procedure documentation. Contributes to continuous improvement recommendations.
Excellent interpersonal and time management skills.
Manage VTC equipment in local and remote locations
Ability to work as a team member on solutions to a variety of complex technical problems.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science/information technology or equivalent education and experience.
Five years' experience in Windows Server administration.
Three years' experience with network protocols - DNS, DHCP, TCP, UDP, SSH, SFTP.
Knowledge of server hardware, systems components, capacity, and systems performance management.
Proficient with Windows Server 2019 and later.
Basic knowledge of VMware and Hyper-V.
Experience administering Microsoft SCCM/Intune and Hybrid endpoint management.
Proficient with Windows 10 and later Windows operating systems.
Experience administrating Microsoft 365 associated services.
Basic knowledge of Linux and virtual appliance deployments.
Ability to work independently.
Be physically capable of lifting 50 Lbs.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
ITIL/Microsoft certifications are a plus.
Experience with provisioning, monitoring, and maintaining enterprise cloud and hybrid environments. (Office365, Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform).
Experience with implementation of NIST 800-171/CMMC 2.0 security controls.
Azure/AWS Certifications.
