Secret Clearance Logistics Specialist

Responsibilities: Performing on-site support during ship alterations, overhauls, and repair evolutions related to HM&E systems. Utilizing established documents in support of acquiring material that has a Long Lead Time, obsolete, and or is out of stock. Conduct focused research supporting part identification and its alternative/equivalent/replacement. Interpreting information from databases/sources: Assist, Cage, Configuration, Cortel Library (drawings and Technical Manuals) FedMall, LogiQuest, Military Specifications, NAVSUP, One Touch Support, PRIME, Surface Ship Support Center (SSSC), TDMIS, WebFlis, etc. Crosschecking collected information, recorded errors, and proposed to appropriate personnel to update the information. Suggesting changes to a Technical Manual via the submission of a Technical Manual Deficiency Evaluation Report, TMDER. Making recommendations in the procurement, repair, and or replacement of Items (actuators, bearings, capstans, controllers, lighting, motors, pumps, valves, windows, etc.) during a ship's scheduled and unscheduled maintenance availability. Collaborating with engineers, logisticians, and program leads to support technical execution of field work in accordance with Navy maintenance and modernization protocols by providing options to the Maintenance Teams, Manufacturers, Planning Yard, Repair Shops, Surface Fleet, Suppliers, SURFLANT, Vendors, etc. iso Fleet Operations. Adhering to Navy safety, security, and configuration management standards during all shipboard and facility-based work activities. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and 1-3 years of hands-on experience working with U.S. Navy shipboard systems and equipment OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree will also consider an Associate's degree & 3 years of experience OR High School & 6 years of experience. Working experience with U.S. Navy Shipboard systems and equipment. Experience planning and scheduling shipboard work activities, including material tracking and coordination with shipyard or field activities. U.S. Citizen with an active Secret Clearance (or ability to obtain an interim clearance before starting) Physical requirements: Position will require being able to climb ladders on carriers Desired Qualifications: Active Secret clearance preferred. NAVSEA Ship Alteration Installation Team (AIT) Familiarization. Use of shipboard test equipment and tools. Access to Assist, Cage, CDMD-OA, DeckPlate, FedMall, MBPS, One Touch, Priority Material Office, Surface Ship Support Center (SSSC), WebFlis. Experience in identifying material and logistics requirements for ship alteration and repair.
