iWorld Professionals is seeking a Lead Electrical Power Engineer for our client in Rochester NY.
If you are interested to work for an established and growing utility provider and play a key role in maintaining and advancing the performance, reliability, and safety of an electrical infrastructure, then this position is for you! Lead Electrical Power Engineer Responsibilities:
Lead the development and execution of long-term electrical system strategies, including maintenance, upgrades, and future expansion. Serve as the technical lead for medium voltage (600V to 34.5kV) systems, including distribution equipment, substations, transformers, switchgear, and turbine generators. Support and troubleshoot low voltage (110V to 600V) electrical systems, motors, and variable frequency drives. Conduct or manage power systems analyses (load flow, short circuit, coordination studies, arc flash, etc.). Provide project management support for electrical engineering initiatives and capital projects. Assist with the daily operation and maintenance of plant-wide electrical systems. Coordinate with regional utilities and energy markets as needed. Provide electrical engineering input for building systems, including HVAC, lighting, security, and emergency systems. Advise on electrical safety and ensure adherence to relevant standards (e.g., NFPA, OSHA). Lead Electrical Power Engineer Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required. Minimum of 8 years experience in electrical engineering roles within industrial utilities, power generation, or large manufacturing environments. Strong knowledge of both low and medium voltage systems. New York State Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred or the ability to obtain it. Demonstrated experience in capital project execution and cross-functional team collaboration. Strategic thinker with the ability to plan infrastructure evolution to meet future demand. Strong communicator capable of coordinating across engineering, operations, and vendor teams.
Base salary commensurate with experience in the $100,000 - $120,000 range plus bonus and excellent benefit package. Apply today to
