The Union Well, Inc. is an auxiliary of Sacramento State and is a California 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation. The corporation consists of the facility operations and programs of two buildings: The WELL (Recreation & Wellness Center) and The University Union. Wednesday through Sunday, 4:00 pm 1:00 am Responsibilities

Develops and supervises the physical room setup for meeting, conference, and event rooms in the University Union and The WELL. Provides supervision for student event setup staff and ensures room setups are timely, accurate, functional, neat, clean, and ready for customer use prior to each event. Assists with interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating student assistants. Provides feedback to the Event Services Manager, Operations on students productivity and/or disciplinary problems. Assigns and divides work among student assistants to ensure efficiency and timeliness. Resolves questions and anticipates potential problems during the setup process while ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to policies. Meets regularly with Event Services Reservations and Operations staff to coordinate customer needs; provides regular communication with the University Union Event Services Manager, Operations and Assistant Director, Event Services. Sets up, operates and troubleshoots audio-visual equipment including microphones, projectors, monitors, and lighting; integrates Union equipment with devices provided by event sponsors and partners. Designs and implements hybrid (virtual/in-person) meeting infrastructure, including equipment setup, cabling, troubleshooting software/laptops, and training student staff on procedures. Ensures all audio-visual equipment is accounted for and secured before, during, and after events. Works with additional equipment and personnel/vendors for large events as needed. Trains staff and works with them to perform on-site event management, troubleshooting AV problems, and coordinating with catering staff. Performs preventive maintenance for event equipment; ensures safety training and daily safety inspections; conducts safety and risk management training; collaborates with vendors to troubleshoot and replace equipment as needed. Creates an inventory management plan with the Event Services Manager, including tracking inventory, reporting, and recommending future purchases. Recommends policies and develops operating procedures for housekeeping, event production, and facility management. Assists with creating an annual project and equipment list responsive to input from students, faculty, and staff. Provides back-up support for general building operations and other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Hospitality & Tourism Management, Information Technology, Business, Communications, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Demonstrated knowledge of setup and operation of function spaces, ADA and life safety requirements, and day-of-event operations; experience with AV equipment and related technologies. Familiarity with online meeting software (Zoom, GoToMeeting, Teams) and hybrid meeting equipment; ability to implement meeting setup for hybrid events per customer preferences. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, coordinate multiple duties, and maintain attention to detail. Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with a diverse public and staff. Experience supervising student staff and coordinating with campus operations. Willingness to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends. Knowledge of safe working practices, equipment safety, and general facilities management. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to compile and review reports. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the campus community. Must be legally eligible to drive in California and pass driving standards; must pass background check and fingerprinting. Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a university student union or large event venue. Physical Requirements

Work is performed in public buildings, indoors and outdoors, with exposure to dust, temps, and varying conditions; may work on ladders or lifts; regular contact with staff, campus community, and the public. Duties and Responsibilities

The position provides leadership, planning, and coordination for all physical elements of events, including AV equipment, furniture, staging, room configurations, and overall appearance. It manages meeting and event production, conducts setup and teardown, and oversees safety and customer service in collaboration with campus partners and caterers. Reports to the University Union Event Services Manager, Operations, and collaborates with staff and student workers. The position supervises student event setup staff, student sound/light technicians, and student Event Supervisors. Develops and supervises physical room setups for meetings and events; ensures rooms are ready for customer use. Assists with interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating student staff; assigns work and resolves setup issues to ensure customer satisfaction. Coordinates with Reservations and Operations staff and provides regular communication to leadership. Sets up, operates, and troubleshoots AV equipment; integrates with external devices as needed. Designs and implements hybrid meeting infrastructure and trains staff on procedures. Ensures equipment is secured before, during, and after events. Coordinates with outside AV/vendors for large events. Trains staff and participates in on-site event management and safety procedures. Maintains preventive maintenance, safety training, and risk management for staff; works with vendors as needed. Develops inventory management plans and reports; recommends procurement as needed. Proposes new policies and operating procedures for event-related operations. Assists in creating annual project and equipment plans reflecting campus input. Provides backup for general building operations and performs other duties as assigned. Note:
