Travel Job Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for off-campus emergency departments in WA requiring WA or compact RN license and advanced certifications.

Responsibilities Work in off-campus emergency departments with an average census between 60-110 patients per day Each ED has 10-12 beds with additional hall spaces for patient care Patient population ranges from neonates to geriatrics, including 25% pediatrics, walk-in trauma, cardiac, neuro, GI, respiratory, psychiatric cases, and frequent GSWs 12-hour night shifts with 36 hours per week and a 6-week schedule Primary assignment to one off-campus ED with requirement to float to other locations as needed; floating may occur mid-shift Typical nurse-patient ratios are 1:4; fast track may be 1:6 with a team nurse No respiratory therapists onsite; RNs are responsible for ventilator and BiPAP management Charting is done using Epic, and the unit uses Alaris and Pyxis equipment RNs are responsible for mixing their own medications under pharmacy supervision via video conference LPNs and EST/phlebotomy team provide support with low-acuity patients, procedures, and blood draws Orientation includes hospital orientation, a day with the OCED educator, an 8-hour respiratory class, and unit-based training N95s, PAPRs, and goggles required as PPE Negotiable weekend and holiday coverage as part of the rotation Scrubs of any color allowed Free parking provided First-time travelers are welcome RNs may be assigned charge duties with on-the-job training offered

Requirements Current WA or compact RN license required Minimum 2 years of true ER experience required; 5 years for CAP assignments Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, NIHSS, and TNCC Must complete and pass a traveler telemetry competency test prior to start Demonstrated skills in ED nursing, customer service, medication administration, handling chest tubes, central lines, strong IV skills, and willingness to take charge after facility-based training Epic charting system experience preferred but not required Able to provide care to intubated patients and manage ventilators and BiPAP after onboarding training
