Josh McDowell Ministry
The HR Generalist will be integral to the HR team, providing full-cycle support to both hourly and salaried staff across multiple functions. This role focuses on recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, leave management, performance management, and data oversight. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, proactive, and capable of supporting employees with care, while ensuring compliance with Sightlines policies and regulations.
Primary Responsibilities
Recruitment & Hiring Prepare and submit job postings to the Sightline recruiting team. Lead all hiring processes for Sightline employees (hourly/salaried), including screening candidates, conducting interviews, and coordinating background checks. Provide regular updates to Team Leaders throughout the process. Ensure all appropriate hiring paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner. Onboarding & Orientation Conduct orientations for new hires, explaining policies and procedures, and ensuring teams are prepared to welcome new employees. Follow up with Team Leaders to ensure timely completion of 60-day reviews for new hires. Conduct 90-day HR-led checkpoints for new employees to ensure proper integration and satisfaction. Employee Relations & Performance Management:
Assist Team Leaders with performance issues, concerns, and conflicts. Help resolve situations through Sightline HR policies while providing exceptional care to employees. Coordinate and oversee the employee termination or transfer process, including conducting exit interviews. Administer and manage all types of employee leaves, including FMLA, paid parental leave, and PTO, ensuring employees are guided through the process with care.
Data Management & Administration: Maintain and update employee data, ensuring accuracy in HR databases. Assist with administrative support for position focus teams and the onboarding of temporary workers for special seasons (e.g., summer programs). Cru Religious Missionary Order Staff are expected to maintain a positive balance in their staff account, properly administer financial resources, and communicate consistently with his/her ministry partnership team. Other Functions: Demonstrate and model personal spiritual discipline and assist in development of an environment on the team where individual team members grow in their own Christian walks. Personal development engage in the Staff Development process including creating and implementing a Personal Development Plan (PDP) targeting areas of growth. Perform related duties or special projects as assigned Attend the Ministrys bi-monthly staff meetings, weekly team meetings, weekly prayer times, biennial retreat and Cru semi-annual days of prayer
