As part of TCEQ Administrative Services, you would help support the logistical and operational structure for TCEQ statewide -- the business foundation for the whole agency. See details about what we do. This position is a member of our Information Resources Division. What Youll Be Doing

Lead and coordinate the administration, upgrading, testing, maintenance, and delivery of complex enterprise application systems and environments for the Information Resources Division (IRD) of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). Prioritize and assign tasks within the Application Administration Workgroup staff and oversee all work assigned to the work group. Resolve issues and complete management requests. Assist the team leader with personnel management functions including the hiring process, providing input into performance management tasks, and staff development. Provide mentoring and guidance to staff, facilitating continued improvement in systems administration skills. Lead and/or coordinate the Application Administration Workgroup; plan, schedule, and coordinate systems implementations and upgrades, ensuring agency business needs are met. Analyze and test new or existing procedures, applications, information systems, or utility programs for efficiency and effectiveness. Monitor systems and application performance, responds to customer issues, recommends improvements, and implements configuration enhancements. Develop and maintain procedures for application systems administration. Document system configurations and changes, processes, and technical specifications. Provide cross-training and consulting for other technical staff. Communicate/Interface with management and other technical teams to ensure enterprise level service needs are anticipated and met. Plan, document, implement, and lead the implementation of software security measures. Qualifications

Experience in the design (10 pt.), implementation (10 pt.), and/or administration (10 pt.) of multi-tiered IT environments. Experience administering and/or configuring Microsoft Server environments. Experience leading projects, systems implementation, and training/onboarding staff or peers. Experience in creating system (5 pt.) and/or user documentation (5 pt.) for complex information systems/technology projects. Experience administering cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, or OCI platforms. Required Education/Experience

Experience in the administration of a program relevant to assignment. OR Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a field relevant to assignment. Other Requirements

Employees in this classification series may research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure, including but not limited to a communication infrastructure system, cybersecurity system, electric grid, hazardous waste treatment system, or water treatment facility. Accordingly, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure is a requirement to be hired for and to continue to be employed with TCEQ.
