Job Description:
Responsible to the Athletic Director, Head High School Coach and Administration Must be able to attend all school practices, games, tournaments, meetings, etc. Must be able to drive district vehicles to transport participants Responsible for all matters pertaining to the organization and coaching of the team under their direction Enforce all rules of the league, state and national association as they pertain to the respective sports Assure that players and coaches under their jurisdiction understand that a completed and signed parental permission form and physical examination packet shall be in the hands of the Athletic Director prior to an athlete beginning practice. Ensure ASB cards are purchased prior to the first game/contest. Cooperate with the Administration, Athletic Director, fellow coaches and students to promote the best interests of the entire athletic program.. Conform to Tenino School District policy in ordering equipment and supplies Prepare a roster for all team members and update throughout the season, as needed. Assume responsibility for any participants from the beginning of practice until they have left the building/site. Secure all gates, locker rooms and gymnasium facilities before leaving the area. Accompany and supervise the team to and from all contests. In the event of an injury, file an accident report form with the high school office. Do not loan out keys under any circumstances. Attend scheduled coaches meetings unless excused. Check arrangements for all transportation with the Athletic Director. Emphasize safety precautions and use accepted training and injury procedures. All Head Coaches should have a well-written policy of emergency procedures and protocols. This should be on file with the Athletic Director and communicated with assistants. Complete and file mandatory WIAA rules clinics with the Athletic Director. Complete and file mandatory Safe School tests with the Athletic Director. Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Employees must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time. Physical ability to lift 25 pounds to shoulder height. Ability to bend, stoop, climb stairs, and reach overhead. Ability to effectively manage student transition to a variety of locations (e.g. P.E., recess, buses and lunch) throughout the day.
