Technology Specialist

for the current school year. The applicant must be an innovative, motivated, dedicated professional with the ability to support the technology infrastructure needed to enhance learning and instruction. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining an environment that is responsive, effective, and efficient. The IT Support Specialist performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. Essential Responsibilities and Tasks:

Responsible for training, modeling, and assisting teachers in integrating technology in the classroom to improve student achievement. Coordinates the management of instructional and non-instructional school network. Acquires and updates skills as necessary for effective network management. Installs, troubleshoots, and maintains hardware and software. Trains users in applications on the network. Coordinates activities of outside vendors, consultants, and trainers. Practices flexibility to assess needs and strategies and adapt appropriately in a ministerial context. Exercises cost-consciousness. Qualifications:

Bachelors degree preferred, in Information Systems or related field, or 4 years of IT-related field experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with Google Apps, Backup Solutions, Cloud Storage, VMWare, Storage Area Networks. Ability to relate to and work well with others, possess strong writing, organizational, and leadership skills, and be proficient in the use of computers and technology. Must have knowledge of mobile devices such as iPads and Chromebooks. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; MCSE, MOUS certifications a plus. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals, and technical documentation. Problem-solving ability to deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited information exists; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Excellent customer service skills, including ability to maintain focus on and professionalism with people in challenging situations, both in person and by phone. Excellent oral and written English communication skills, including clear speaking voice. Good time management, including ability to manage several projects at the same time with accuracy, setting reasonable and practical priorities. Demonstrated confidentiality and professionalism in the exercise of duties, having experience safeguarding sensitive data. Must be supportive of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church.
