City Of Greeley $25.49 - $35.69 Hourly Greeley, CO Full-Time Continuous Job Summary
Perform maintenance and repairs on public buildings. Renders technical assistance with maintenance and construction activities in City owned buildings. May act as project manager for projects that may include repair, remodeling and renovation of City owned buildings. May act as City of Greeley's representative on projects that include new construction of City owned buildings. Ensure facilities are in compliance with Federal, State and Local applicable building and accessibility codes. May assemble and build shelves, tables, cabinets, desks and other forms of furniture. * High School Diploma or equivalent required * Previous experience: 2 years of building maintenance experience desired. * Must have the knowledge to identify maintenance and replacement items that are needed for budget purposes. * Must be able to manage a computer in order to design/create/activate a prox card security system for the security of the building. * Must understand and practice safe work methods. * Successfully complete the Level 2 Criminal Justice Information System Security & Awareness Training (every 2 years). * Pass a background check through the City of Greeley Police Department. * Must have the honesty and integrity to have the knowledge that you access to all areas in the City of Greeley. Essential Functions
* Assist in the development of plans, specifications and cost estimates for projects that are presented to Facilities Management. * Work effectively with the public and internal customers using patience and good judgment. * Assist in the design, estimating, managing, reporting and scheduling specifications, scope of work, requisitions/purchase orders, bid documents, per-construction agenda/meetings, awarding of project, coordination with contractors, supervising project and completion. * Make decisions on high priority/high cost projects, and present them to the supervisor for available budget and completion schedule. * Ensure City facilities follow all building codes (Life and Safety, Building, Plumbing, Electrical, Fire, Structural, ADA, etc.). * Troubleshoot, diagnose and perform maintenance and repairs on public buildings including roofs, elevators, keys, interior and exterior walls, windows, doors, garage doors, storm water drainage, water and sewer systems, floors, facility ADA accessibility, HVAC, facility security systems, fixtures, electrical, including replacing ballasts and lamps, painting interior and exterior, concrete, plumbing and structural features. * Analyze operational and maintenance problems and implement corrective measures. * Make prox card badges and give access to entire City staff through Brivo Cloud System. * Pin new lock cylinders from key codes booklets, also make new keys from codes booklets. Take apart and fix broken door hardware including locks, cylinders, knobs, levers, handles, closers, panics and exterior security doors. * Use computer to update work order system, track time, update project spreadsheets. * Use the following computer programs to complete work and project requirements, Microsoft office suite, internet browsers, cloud prox card system, etc. * Research, design and implement new technologies that are needed to secure City of Greeley buildings (keys, prox card systems, security monitors, cameras, recording equipment, etc.). * Meet with State of Colorado representatives and elevator maintenance contractors on elevator safety and inspection requirements. * Must be able to be on-call (24-7) for a week in rotation with the other technicians in the division. Including responding to emergencies on any day of the week, evenings, and Holidays and identifying the problem and executing the repairs, when on-call or called in on an emergency (flood or tornado, etc.). * Prepare written reports and correspondence for City employees, contractors and Public Information Office. Work Environment
* Employee is regularly exposed to both indoor and outdoor work in various weather conditions. * Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock. * The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. * Employee will use ladders and steps often. * Must be able to sit, walk, climb or balance, talk and hear. * Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. * Must be able to lift and or move up to 50 or 60 pounds and up to or above 100 pounds on a regular basis.
