About the role

The Reliability Engineer is responsible forimproving the reliability, availability, and maintainability of plant assets toensure safe, consistent, and cost-effective operations. This role focuses onidentifying and eliminating equipment failures through data-driven analysis,proactive maintenance strategies, and long-term asset management. TheReliability Engineer works cross-functionally with maintenance, operations,engineering, and safety teams to implement best practices in asset care, drivecontinuous improvement, and support the development of a culture focused onequipment reliability and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

Analyze equipment performance data to identify failure patterns and improvement opportunities to enhance asset reliability, uptime, and performance. Lead and facilitate root cause analyses (RCAs) for equipment failures and chronic issues; develop and implement corrective and preventive actions. Develop, implement, and continuously improve reliability strategies, including preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance programs. Collaborate with safety, quality, operations, and supply chain teams to prioritize reliability projects and ensure alignment with plant goals. Support the selection, design, and implementation of reliability tools such as FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis), RCM (Reliability-Centered Maintenance), and criticality assessments. Analyze maintenance and repair trends to identify cost drivers, equipment risks, and optimization opportunities. Oversee and support the planning and execution of equipment inspections, lubrication programs, vibration monitoring, thermography, and other condition monitoring techniques. Own and maintain the plant's equipment hierarchy and asset database within the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), ensuring accurate tracking and reporting. Develop and track reliability KPIs (e.g., MTBF, MTTR, Cost, etc.) and report on performance and progress of reliability initiatives. Provide technical support for equipment upgrades, capital projects, and new installations to ensure long-term reliability and maintainability. Directly supervise the MRO Specialist to ensure effective spare parts inventory management, including stock optimization, critical spares identification, and supplier coordination. Ensure the MRO function supports planned and unplanned maintenance needs by maintaining proper inventory levels, accuracy, and procurement processes. Lead initiatives to reduce maintenance costs and improve spare parts usage, standardization, and lifecycle management. Support reliability-related training for maintenance and operations personnel to build knowledge and strengthen the reliability culture within the plant. Collaborate in maintenance budgeting and forecasting related to reliability projects, spare parts, and predictive technologies. About you

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field required 3-5 years of experience in reliability, maintenance engineering, or asset management in an industrial or manufacturing environment Prior experience with CMMS and maintenance planning systems Experience with reliability tools and methodologies such as RCA, FMEA, RCM, and condition-based monitoring Supervisory or team leadership experience preferred (especially over MRO, maintenance planning, or stores functions) Proficiency in analyzing equipment performance data and maintenance metrics (e.g., MTBF, MTTR, OEE, Cost) Familiarity with predictive maintenance technologies (e.g., vibration analysis, infrared thermography, ultrasound, oil analysis) Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a hands-on, practical approach Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work cross-functionally with maintenance, operations, and supply chain
