The Maintenance Technician maintains and repairs production and manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. Reporting to the Maintenance & Engineering Manager, this role involves regular services, preventative and predictive maintenance, and troubleshooting equipment breakdowns. The technician collaborates with team members to maximize efficiency and adheres to all safety and quality standards. Additionally, they use computerized maintenance management systems to organize work orders and document maintenance activities accurately. Responsibilities: Adhere to all established Kerry LIFE Safety, Food Safety, GMP, HACCP, and processing policies with an eye towards quality. Follow all LO/TO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures while performing work on equipment. Never take shortcuts or use improper tools/equipment that could compromise safety. Ensure the smooth operation of machinery and mechanical equipment, including: Performing regular (continuous) services for internal customers. Conducting preventative and predictive maintenance procedures. Troubleshooting equipment breakdowns. Troubleshooting 480V systems. PLC programming and troubleshooting. Electrical troubleshooting. Work with team members to achieve the highest efficiency. Work with computerized maintenance management system technology to organize work orders. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements: Food manufacturing plant. Warehouse environment. Ability to kneel, bend, squat, carry, reach, stand, grip, push, pull, arm extensions and perform elevated work. Ability to work in hot, cold, or wet environments. Ability to lift 50 pounds continuously. Ability to walk up to 135 feet one way many times a day. Ability to continuously stand/walk up to 12 hours. Ability to climb stairs or ladder. Kerry is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience. Advanced mechanical knowledge of industrial machinery. Experience with load cells, weight displays, metal detectors, pneumatic cylinders, variable frequency drive wiring and parameter entering, bag sealer knowledge (Fischbein PBC 6000), and conveyors. Proper bearing installations. Proper alignment techniques (sprocket/sheave alignments, coupling alignments). Use of measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, gauges). Reading mechanical schematics. Electrical knowledge of industrial machinery. Motor wiring skills. Electrical troubleshooting skills. Proper use of electrical meters. Reading electrical schematics. Troubleshooting 480V/110 systems. Good organizational skills and communication skills. Ability to read, write, and communicate in English at a level to facilitate understanding of job terminology. Ability to comprehend and follow written and/or verbal procedures or instructions. Ability to be a team player. Average computer skills and the ability to write clear reports. Preferred Qualifications: 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Formal certifications and/or AAS or equivalent in a relevant field. Use and understanding of predictive tools such as infrared thermography and ultrasound. 2-3 years of mechanical experience in a manufacturing industry.
