Job Summary
This position is responsible for supporting the daily functions of theSOC , including log monitoring, incident analysis, and threat hunting. Students will gain hands-on experience withSOC tools, procedures, and industry best practices while helping protect critical energy and infrastructure systems.
Essential Functions
Monitor system logs and alerts to identify potential threats
Assist in triage and escalation of incidents
SupportSOC analysts with threat intelligence research and documentation
MaintainSOC playbooks, procedures, and incident records
Provide technical support during live incident response activities
Contribute to after-action reports, briefings, and training sessions

Minimum Qualifications
Auburn University undergraduate student
Must be a U.S. citizen
Must have the ability to work 10+ hours per week
Preferred Qualifications
Undergraduate student in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline
Interest in network security, digital forensics, and incident response
Familiarity withSIEM tools, intrusion detection, or malware analysis preferred
Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and follow structured processes
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Pay Rate
15.00-20.00 per hour
Work Hours
10-20 hours per week
