Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele Float Pool position requiring an active CO or compact RN license and strong floating skills.
Responsibilities Work in a float pool setting covering Med/Surg and Telemetry units This is a centralized float position with no home unit or facility Assignments may rotate among facilities within a 60-mile radius of the float zone city center Patient population includes Med/Surg and Telemetry cases 12-hour night shifts with a 3-day-per-week schedule Uses Epic EMR and prior experience is preferred Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, implementing interventions, and evaluating patient outcomes Must be comfortable providing care based on nursing standards and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams Duties include IV insertion, wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collection Involvement with patient and family education, care coordination, and advocacy is expected Required to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in diverse work environments Must adhere to hospital policies regarding documentation and professional conduct Flu vaccination is required during the flu season, with medical exemptions only when documented by a physician
Requirements Active RN license in Colorado or a compact state is required Associate Degree in Nursing is required; Bachelor’s degree preferred Current AHA certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS are required Minimum of 1 year of RN experience is preferred Must be able to float to multiple locations within designated zones as needed Must live more than 60 miles from the float zone center to qualify as a traveler
