The Admissions Counselor in collaboration with the Associate Director is responsible for the recruitment and enrollment efforts of Mariano Moreno Culinary Institute. The Counselor will engage with prospective students and influencers via phone, text, email, and in-person to build relationships to attract and enroll a diverse first-year and transfer class for both domestic and international students. The Counselor assists in reviewing admission files and participates in on-campus events and group visits. Essential Functions

Facilitate timely and appropriate information delivery to prospective students to move students through the various stages of enrollment - from inquiry to applicant to admitted student English and Spanish Languages - MUST BE FLUENT IN BOTH LANGUAGES Develops prospects from current students, faculty, referral leads, conferences, educational fairs, career days, campus tours, or special events Determines the prospective students preferred method of communication incorporating all media types to ensure the transmission of information is complete, succinct, and anticipatory in nature Creates and conducts follow-up via phone, text, email, live chat, web, and other methods of communication with prospects and applicants. Utilizes appropriate social media channels to communicate directly with prospective students during the recruitment process Handles and processes inquiries timely and accurately Contacts prospective students to present information and/or explain available programs and services. Communicates with prospects about admission requirements, program offerings, curriculum, and/or basic financial aid information by various means of communication Maintains appropriate follow-up communication with these students regarding the status of their applications for admission and financial aid Counsels prospective students to encourage campus visits and application submission Advises and guides the prospective student and parents through the decision making and application process providing high-level coaching as well as technical assistance throughout the relationship Promotes student engagement with peers, faculty, and staff including department liaisons and academic advisors Develops and maintains expertise in describing the university's scholarships, grants, and financial aid awarding policies and practices, and ensures the highest level of service and accuracy with families Reports daily, weekly, monthly activities utilizing CRM and SIS systems Acts as spokesperson and first line of contact for the University Incumbents should maintain a professional appearance at all times and conduct themselves in a professional manner while holding true to the core values of Mariano Moreno Culinary Institute Represent the Mariano Moreno brand and serve as a content expert for prospective students, parents, teachers, and guidance counselors Develops and maintains a network of relationships that will serve to increase enrollment, such as alumni, students, the business community, professional organizations, and student groups Demonstrates and possesses a strong understanding of cultural competency and how to communicate to different audiences Prepares presentations for prospective students and accepted student audiences both small and large Participates in on and off-campus events for prospects, accepted students, and special interest groups Acts as the in-house admission counselor, meeting with prospective students and families Maintains effective communications with the departments of Financial Aid and Admissions Services as necessary to facilitate their efforts in the application process Apprises the applicants of the needed credentials to receive an admissions decision Reviews student records to determine that all credentials required for admission have been received, authenticated and are official Forecasts and tracks marketing and enrollment trends, analyzing collected data Makes recommendations for process improvements to improve workflow Safeguards the confidentiality of student, staff and university information by exercising discretion in managing records and communication with faculty, staff, parents, alumni and current and prospective students Performs other duties as assigned or required Required Knowledge & Skills

Digital Media - Working knowledge of digital media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform and persuade via digital, web, and social media. Customer and Personal Service - Working knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of user satisfaction. English and Spanish Languages - MUST BE FLUENT IN BOTH LANGUAGES Marketing - Working knowledge of principles and methods for describing and promoting programs and services in order to achieve desired outcomes. General knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word and Excel). Skills
