ArcGIS Geospatial Architect

Job Title: ArcGIS Geospatial Architect Location: Austin, TX - Onsite Position Overview We are looking for an experienced ArcGIS Geospatial Architect to design and oversee enterprise GIS solutions supporting Medicaid and CHIP client/provider data. This role will focus on data analytics, integration, and governance while ensuring compliance with state and federal standards. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in Esri ArcGIS, strong leadership in geospatial data management. Key Responsibilities Lead the design, development, and governance of ArcGIS-based solutions for healthcare mapping and analytics. Define geospatial data architectures, workflows, and metadata standards to ensure data quality, accuracy, and compliance. Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to gather requirements and support enterprise GIS integration. Oversee the creation, management, and maintenance of GIS datasets (demographic, socioeconomic, health, and program data). Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and best practices for GIS analysts and developers. Conduct advanced spatial analyses to support public health initiatives and track program compliance. Prepare reports, dashboards, and interactive web maps for leadership and external partners. Required Qualifications Bachelors or Masters in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, Public Health, or related field. 7+ years of professional GIS experience, with 3+ years in an architect/lead role (cloud architectures preferred). Expert proficiency with Esri ArcGIS (ArcGIS Pro, database management, network analyst, spatial analysis, web mapping). 5+ years working with SQL Server Enterprise Geodatabases and ArcGIS data management tools. 5+ years of Python and SQL experience (functions, procedures, automation). 2+ years working in Agile/Scrum environments. Strong knowledge of geospatial governance, metadata standards, and data quality assurance. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with Medicaid or social services datasets. GIS certifications (Esri Enterprise System Design Professional, ArcGIS Enterprise Administration, GISP). Experience with GeoAI, LLMs, or ML for geospatial data analysis and automation. Experience with Snowflake Data Warehouses and custom web application integrations.
