Yoga Instructor (Montlake Community Center)
The Associated Recreation Council (ARC), in partnership with Seattle Parks & Recreation, is hiring a Yoga Instructor
to plan and deliver Yoga fitness classes at Montlake Community Center. The instructor(s) will be responsible for creating lessons and teaching the fundamentals of yoga to a diverse classroom of up to 20 adult students. General responsibilities include teaching in a welcoming environment, class lesson planning, and providing excellent customer service. A passion for teaching and yoga are a must!
Location : Montlake Community Center
Pay Range : $28.50- $30.50 hourly depending on skills, experience and credentials
Schedule/Position :
Vinyasa/Flow Yoga on Tuesdays from 6:30-7:30pm
Program Dates: November 4th -December 16th, 2025
Hatha Yoga on Saturdays from 9:30-10:30am
Program Dates: October 4th -December 20th, 2025
Part time: approximately1.25-2.5 hours per week Non-exempt/seasonal position Responsibilities
Programming:
Creation and delivery of programs in the area of yoga Ensuring high quality programs that are accessible to diverse patrons Providing SPR and ARC leadership with supply lists to purchase Set-up and tear down for program Ensure that all equipment and materials are sanitized and stored properly each day Supervising and ensuring the safety of all participants Reporting any accidents or behavioral incidents to SPR/ARC leadership promptly and documenting where appropriate Big Idea - You are the Subject Matter Expert, and we rely on your expertise to lead a great patron experience Relationship Building:
Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all participants Attend all required meetings and trainings Care and Safety:
Follow safety protocols and ensure participant compliance Complete required accident/incident forms Minimum Qualifications:
Must be 21 years of age or older Experience building lesson plans, leading and managing a fitness class of participants ACE (American Council on Exercise) or RYT (registered yoga teacher) certification is a plus and preferred, but not required If hired, must successfully complete/pass a background check If hired, must provide proof of eligibility to work in the US and valid government issued ID If hired, must have First Aid/CPR certification, or willingness to attain Benefits:
