Director Trust Governance and Compliance
We are conducting a confidential search for a Director of Trust Governance & Compliance to join a global fiduciary services group. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with a portfolio of complex offshore trusts and underlying entities, ensuring best-in-class governance, regulatory compliance, and fiduciary oversight. Responsibilities Trust & Beneficiary Oversight: Support reporting, communication, and relationship management with beneficiaries across multiple trusts. Investment & Allocation Compliance: Monitor adherence to investment guidelines, manage due diligence requests, and assist in policy and reporting related to economic interests. Distributions & Valuations: Coordinate trustee approvals for distributions and financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Regulatory & Statutory Compliance: Oversee reporting obligations under FATCA, CRS, AML/KYC, and other international regimes. Ensure entities remain in good standing with regulators. Governance & Board Support: Prepare and maintain trustee/board resolutions, agendas, and minutes, ensuring compliance with decision-making protocols. Risk Management: Identify potential risks, support mitigation strategies, and contribute to annual compliance and risk assessments. Collaboration with Advisors: Partner with external counsel, consultants, and service providers to ensure high-quality execution.
Qualifications Bachelors degree required; advanced degree (JD, LLM, MBA) preferred. Professional trust/fiduciary certifications (TEP, CTFA) are highly valued. 7+ years of experience in offshore trust management, fiduciary services, or a related compliance/governance function. Strong knowledge of international trust and company law, FATCA/CRS, AML/KYC frameworks, and corporate governance. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, communicate complex matters clearly, and lead within a collaborative team environment. High proficiency with Microsoft 365; QuickBooks experience is a plus.
