Seeking a

Strategic Procurement Director

to build and lead its U.S. procurement function from the ground up. With a spend portfolio of approximately $350 million across direct and indirect categories, this role offers a unique opportunity to shape procurement strategy, drive cost reduction initiatives, and influence operations across a decentralized, multi-site environment.

This is a career-defining opportunity for a strategic thinker who thrives in autonomy, enjoys hands-on delivery, and is eager to rethink conventional procurement approaches.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement the U.S. procurement function, aligning with global standards while tailoring to local needs.

Lead strategic sourcing across services such as benefits, accommodations, logistics, leases, consulting, and legal.

Develop and manage category taxonomies, spend reporting frameworks, and procurement governance tools.

Drive cost reduction initiatives and vendor optimization across 40+ states.

Collaborate with global procurement leadership to ensure alignment and scalability.

Manage end-to-end procurement lifecycle: RFP development, vendor negotiations, contract execution, and performance management.

Influence and educate stakeholders across decentralized business units.

Leverage existing systems (SAP and PO tools) to enhance procurement efficiency-no new system implementation required.

Qualifications:

8+ years of strategic sourcing and procurement lifecycle experience.

Proven success building procurement functions or frameworks from scratch.

Experience in global or multi-site operations with decentralized spend.

Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills.

Comfortable working independently while influencing cross-functional teams.

Familiarity with government-funded procurement guidelines is highly desirable.

Experience sourcing services (not products) such as tech vendors, consulting firms, and accommodations.

Degree preferred but not required-experience and impact matter most.

Ideal Candidate Traits:

Ambitious, proactive, and eager to lead change.

Strategic mindset with hands-on execution ability.

Comfortable navigating ambiguity and complexity.

Collaborative and purpose-driven.

Pay Details:

$130,000.00 to $150,000.00 per year
