About the leasing consultant position: We are looking for a talented leasing consultant who will coordinate all activities related to apartment rentals, move-ins, move-outs, and lease renewals. The leasing consultant also interacts directly with prospective and current residents to achieve maximum occupancy and ensure resident retention and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Focus on the needs of others by listening, understanding, and showing empathy and respect. Provide excellent customer service to prospective and current residents and promote a quality living experience for all. Generate and handle traffic, qualify prospective residents, lease apartments, prepare lease documentation, and complete move-in paperwork and processes. Ensure model apartments are in touring condition. Orient prospective and current residents to the property. Process renewal paperwork and deliver documentation monthly. Maintain accurate and detailed records of traffic activity in the computer. Follow up with all prospective residents via phone, mail or email. Convert phone traffic into scheduled appointments to tour the property. Inspect apartments prior to move-ins and coordinate move-in/out with the maintenance team to ensure move-in readiness. Create and maintain confidential resident files and review move-in paperwork with new residents. Complete weekly leasing reports in a timely and accurate manner. Ensure all open and close procedures are completed daily. Assist with ongoing resident relations and respond to requests promptly and accurately. Research and compare competitive properties. Inspect buildings and grounds to ensure safety and cleanliness; alert maintenance to repairs. Assist with processing work order requests and ensure timely completion. Provide clerical support as needed (answering phones, filing, processing invoices). Support planning and implementation of resident activities to increase retention. Comply with company policies, health and safety rules, and applicable laws. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

High school diploma is required. Minimum of one year of previous sales experience is preferred. One year of previous residential leasing experience is preferred.

Skills and Requirements

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to others. Prior experience in Yardi Voyager or another equivalent system is preferred. Basic level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all levels of management. Ability to handle confidential matters. Ability to work independently and prioritize in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency. Ability to convey technical concerns with detail, quickly and accurately. Ability to read, write, comprehend, and converse in English. Ability to use general office equipment and a key track system. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to manage tense situations with difficult people. Must maintain a valid drivers license, clean driving record and current auto insurance. Must comply with safety requirements. Required to complete and pass Avenue5 Fair Housing, Diversity and Inclusion Training within the first 30 days of employment.
