Base pay range $120,000.00/yr - $135,000.00/yr
Overview
This role is central to managing the unit’s close processes, financial performance, budgeting cycles, and long-term financial planning. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in managing financial operations in a project-based or service-oriented environment, and will contribute to improving both financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee monthly and year-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting for the business unit
Play a key role in planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes
Prepare and evaluate income statements, cost analyses, and performance metrics
Ensure financial reports align with company policies and accounting standards
Manage periodic inventory and asset tracking procedures
Serve as the primary finance liaison between the business unit and broader corporate finance team
Offer financial insights to support revenue optimization, cost control, and risk mitigation
Partner with key business functions (e.g., operations, procurement, sales) to align financial goals with strategic objectives
Analyze contract structures, pricing models, and margins to inform decision-making
Monitor expenditures and apply cost containment practices across the business unit
Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting principles, and relevant regulatory guidelines
Collaborate with auditors and internal teams to ensure accurate reporting and compliance
Improve processes to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and audit readiness
Work closely with internal stakeholders to align financial plans with operational initiatives
Develop models to support key investments and business planning decisions
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, CMA, or CFA preferred)
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting, FP&A, or finance roles in operational or business unit settings
Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory processes, and financial performance tracking
Hands-on experience with ERP and financial reporting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
Advanced Excel skills and proven ability to develop financial models
Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills
