Financial Management & Reporting
Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on execution

Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee some accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, job cost accounting, payroll, and some cash management (working with our Controller and CFO).
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and tax returns in accordance with GAAP.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Ensure accurate job cost tracking, cost-to-complete forecasts, and work-in-progress (WIP) reporting.
- Partner with project managers and estimators to monitor profitability and financial performance of jobs.
- Oversee union payroll processing, ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
- Oversee and processing wage garnishments, 401K contributions, and FSA contributions.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, as well as Department of Labor and other governing agencies.
- Maintain accurate records for audits, including labor compliance and certified payroll audits.
- Act as primary liaison with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies.
- Minimum 5-10 years of progressive construction accounting experience.
- Experience in construction industry accounting required.
- Strong knowledge of job cost accounting, WIP schedules, and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition.
- Hands-on experience with union payroll and certified payroll reporting.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
- High level of integrity and commitment to confidentiality.
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration across departments.
