Responsibilities
Oversee and maintain the 2,900 sq ft. CSE Data Center operations, ensuring efficiency, security, scalability and compliance with university and sponsor policies. Design, maintain, and expand the department's data center infrastructure including power, cooling, networking, storage, and security. Work closely with researchers to coordinate computing resource usage, ensuring adequate capacity and system performance. Collaborate with the Director of Enterprise Computing/CTO and CAO of the Computer Science and Engineering Department to manage data center needs.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Broad knowledge of various areas of IT and advanced skills in programming design, modification, and implementation. Experience installing software and troubleshooting moderately complex problems with computing devices, peripherals and software; incident response and digital forensics experience preferred. Knowledge of business/process analysis, database administration, and system design; advanced database querying and modeling skills. Familiarity with data design, data mapping/conversion, and computer security tools and policies; ability to administer security controls. Strong technical documentation skills and the ability to communicate technical information clearly. Experience with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java, Ruby on Rails, PHP, Perl, XML, XSLT) and managing web servers. Ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, provide estimates, and deliver on deadlines. Experience in data center activities, HPC equipment handling, and knowledge of electrical and cooling requirements; experience with high-performance networking equipment is desired. Safety awareness for hazardous materials and knowledge of electrical/building/fire codes. Interpersonal skills to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders at various levels.

Pay Transparency
Annual Full Pay Range: $88,000 - $161,600 (prorated if appointment percentage
