The Senior Network Engineer leads the design, configuration, implementation, and monitoring of enterprise network solutions, standards, and processes. This role collaborates across engineering teams to identify and manage project milestones, ensuring network reliability and performance across the organization. As an expert in network engineering principles, solution design, emerging technologies, cross-platform troubleshooting, and full-stack network testing. Compensation: $125,000-$135,000 + 10% Bonus On-Site: 4 days/week On-Site (Tampa - North of airport) - 1 day remote Cannot work C2C OR provide sponsorship Must Have
Strong routing (BGP in data center environments) Cisco Access 9000 & 8500 routers/switches; spine-leaf with VXLAN FortiGate firewall setup & security rules Data center migration experience Active professional-level Cisco cert (CCNP) Nice to Have
AWS or other cloud networking exposure Network automation (Python/Ansible) Essential Responsibilities
Evaluate and implement new network technologies to address gaps and improve performance, capacity, and scalability. Lead day-to-day networking operations to ensure high availability and serviceability. Provide technical support, resolve tickets, and perform incident response including root cause analysis (RCA). Install and configure networking hardware, LAN switches, Wi-Fi, and firewalls. Maintain detailed network architecture documentation and drawings. Support compliance, risk management, and network monitoring efforts. Deploy and manage SD-WAN and related infrastructure. Coach and mentor network/technical support staff while collaborating with vendors and cross-functional teams. Plan future strategies to maintain high network performance. Required Skills & Experience
Strong proficiency in enterprise routing and switching protocols (e.g., OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, Spanning Tree, vPC). Experience with SD-WAN deployment/maintenance. Hands-on knowledge of Cisco IOS/IOS-XE/NX-OS, firewalls (Fortinet, Meraki, Cisco), and Network Configuration Manager (NCM). Familiarity with multi-vendor platforms (Aruba/HP, Cisco, Meraki, Fortinet). Understanding of data center and WAN architectures (Carrier Ethernet, OTN, MPLS). Ability to design LAN/WLAN/WAN/Cloud networks and produce technical roadmaps. Experience with Cisco Wireless Controllers, Azure networking, and network automation/security (Python/Ansible a plus). Strong analytical, time management, and communication skills to present technical solutions clearly. Education & Credentials
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience). 10+ years in enterprise-scale network design, implementation, and support. Active Cisco Professional-tier certification (e.g., CCNP). Expertise in Ethernet, TCP/IP, MPLS, DMVPN, QoS, VoIP, and Fortinet Firewall deployments.
