Temporary Maintenance Technician

The Temporary Maintenance Technician is responsible for: Operate landscaping equipment such as mowers, blowers, weed eaters, hedge trimmers, chainsaws, edgers, and utility vehicles to perform turf and landscape maintenance tasks, including mowing, edging, trimming, and blowing. Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and promptly report any issues to the Field Lead. Assist with bed preparation and the installation and maintenance of plant materials (annuals, perennials, bulbs, sod, trees, and shrubs) under the direction of the Field Lead. Support the installation of sod and seeding in turf areas. Ensure all work is performed in accordance with established safety protocols and university policies. Maintain clean and organized work sites, vehicles, and equipment. Assist with debris and leaf removal as well as general sanitation efforts. Proactively report notable incidents such as safety concerns, accidents, equipment damage, or incomplete assignments to the Field Lead. Collaborate effectively with team members and maintain professional communication with the campus community. Other Work/Responsibilities
Other duties as needed. Required Qualifications
The Temporary Maintenance Technician must: Communicate effectively with supervisors and the general public; understand verbal and written instructions related to work assignments and other job-related communications. Have experience in landscaping and grounds maintenance. Be able to lift up to 60 pounds frequently and up to 90 pounds occasionally with or without reasonable accommodation. Possess a valid North Carolina driver's license required within 60 days of hire and must be maintained. Preferred Qualifications
The Temporary Maintenance Technician should: Have 6+ months in landscaping or some experience in the field for which you are applying is preferred. Have 6+ months of commercial landscaping experience. Required License or Certification
