Job Description: The Spec, Procurement team member will plan and execute procurement activities for raw materials, goods, and services. Responsibilities include compiling and analyzing data to assess purchasing feasibility and set price objectives, approving and qualifying vendors, obtaining quotes, examining bids, and making awards. The role involves following up on orders, negotiating with suppliers, analyzing supplier operations, reviewing proposals, and maintaining records. The candidate may also prepare RFPs and bid packages, negotiate damages and claims, and ensure compliance with anti-corruption laws. Essential Functions: Procure and manage assigned commodities, including purchase orders, engineering changes, costing, and cost analysis. Create PO packages with required documentation. Lead supplier negotiations and selection processes. Identify and implement cost reduction strategies. Manage supplier relationships and develop supply base strategies. Resolve supplier issues, including negotiations on non-conformances, invoicing, and service levels. Assist with marketing requests by analyzing material costs. Maintain inventory accuracy in the MRP system. Provide insights on key commodity events affecting business plans. Explore new suppliers and processes. Ensure documentation compliance with FAR/DFAR regulations. Implement strategic goals and manage projects as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree + 4 years relevant experience, or Graduate Degree + 2 years, or 8 years experience without a degree. Proven negotiation skills. Contract knowledge, including terms and conditions. Strong Microsoft Office skills. Understanding of engineering documentation and product configurations. Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills. U.S. Citizenship required. Preferred Skills: Experience with government/FAR procurement. APICS CPIM or CSCP certification preferred. The salary range is $62,000-$115,000, depending on experience and location. Benefits include health insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and more.
