We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HR Generalist to join our team. This role will play a critical part in building a positive employee experience, ensuring compliance with labor regulations, and supporting the companys overall HR operations. Full-time Responsibilities

Compliance & HR Operations

Ensure HR policies and practices comply with federal, state, and local labor laws. Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation. Support audits and reporting requirements. Stay up to date with multi-state labor and employment regulations, with emphasis on restaurant industry compliance in California and New York.

Recruitment & Hiring

Partner with managers to identify hiring needs and develop job descriptions. Manage the full-cycle recruitment process including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and extending offers. Support employer branding and candidate experience initiatives.

Onboarding & Offboarding

Coordinate new hire orientation and ensure a smooth onboarding experience. Prepare necessary paperwork, system access, and training materials. Manage offboarding processes, including exit interviews, final documentation, and compliance requirements.

Employee Relations

Serve as a point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and conflict resolution. Promote a positive workplace culture and support employee engagement initiatives. Provide guidance to managers and employees on HR policies and best practices.

Training Development

Create and update manuals, guides, and resources to help employees learn daily tasks and company processes. Support ongoing employee training and development initiatives.

Payroll & Finance Collaboration

Partner with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. Verify timekeeping, deductions, and compliance with wage and hour regulations. Support payroll audits and resolve discrepancies as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Strong knowledge of HR laws, compliance requirements, and best practices, especially related to CA, NY, and NJ. Prior experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry is preferred. Fluency in Mandarin Chinese is required. 1+ years of HR experience (generalist or similar role). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities. Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Restaurant365, Toast, Gusto, AllianceHCM, or similar systems is preferred. Visa support, including OPT and H-1B, is available for qualified candidates.
