Windows Server Administrator
to support a mission-critical on-premises environment for our client in downtown Knoxville, TN. This full-time, on-site opportunity is ideal for a well-rounded IT professional with strong server administration expertise and hands-on infrastructure support experience. Overview
As a Server Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the organizations core IT systems, services, and hardware. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in administering Microsoft Server environments, virtualization (VMware), storage systems (NetApp, IBM Flash), and enterprise tools such as CMDB and SCCM. Familiarity with Azure Cloud services, AI infrastructure processes, and HPC environments is highly desirable. About the Role
As a Server Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the organizations core IT systems, services, and hardware. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in administering Microsoft Server environments, virtualization (VMware), storage systems (NetApp, IBM Flash), and enterprise tools such as CMDB and SCCM. Familiarity with Azure Cloud services, AI infrastructure processes, and HPC environments is highly desirable. Key Responsibilities Systems Administration Administer, patch, and secure Windows-based server environments. Build, deploy, and maintain virtualized server infrastructure (VMware). Support containerization solutions (Docker). Monitor system performance, uptime, and resource usage.
Infrastructure Management
Administer and support enterprise storage platforms (IBM Flash, NetApp). Manage and document all assets within CMDB. Support Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPOs, and SCCM.
Projects & Engineering
Participate in the deployment of infrastructure upgrades and server migrations. Support infrastructure design improvements in collaboration with engineering teams. Provide technical documentation and create runbooks for repeatable processes.
Cloud & Innovation
(Nice to Have)
Assist in hybrid projects integrating Azure infrastructure and identity services. Contribute to the planning and implementation of AI infrastructure workflows and data pipelines. Work on parallel file systems or clustered compute systems in HPC environments, if applicable.
Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of experience in systems and infrastructure administration. Strong hands-on experience with: VMware (vSphere/ESXi) Microsoft Server & Active Directory NetApp and/or IBM Flash storage solutions SQL Server databases and Virtual Desktop environments CMDB documentation and change control processes Azure Cloud and hybrid AD environments AI infrastructure workflows or machine learning data pipelines High Performance Computing (HPC) systems Containerization tools like Docker
Location & Work Style
This is a 100% on-site role based in Downtown Knoxville, TN. Candidate must be local or willing to relocate.
