Overview
The Senior Systems Administrator plays a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the reliability, performance and security of ARC Automotive's IT infrastructure. This position involves designing, implementing, and managing enterprise systems, networks, and security protocols. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail oriented, and experienced in managing complex environments. Responsibilities Administer and maintain Windows and Linux servers, virtual environments (VMware/Nutanix), and data storage systems. Manage user accounts, permissions, and security policies through Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft 365. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues. Maintain and improve enterprise backup and disaster recovery systems (e.g., Veeam, Unitrends). Oversee patch management and vulnerability remediation across all systems. Implement and manage network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, and VPNs. Lead system upgrades, migrations, and integrations across multiple global sites. Collaborate with the Cybersecurity Administrator to enforce security best practices. Document system configurations, processes, and procedures. Mentor junior IT staff and provide Tier 3 support for escalated issues.
Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities
Education: BA or BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience. Familiar with a variety of the fields concepts, practices, procedures.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in systems administration in an enterprise environment.
Skills/Abilities
Windows Server Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO VMware vSphere and/or Nutanix certified Backup and disaster recovery tools Network protocols and firewall management Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or M365). Solid understanding of network and server security principles and best practices. Scripting proficiency (PowerShell, Oracle SQL) is a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert, VMware VCP, CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNP, Nutanix). Experience with industrial/automotive IT environments and network security. Familiarity with patching systems (e.g., ConnectWise).
