We’re on the lookout for a dynamic Director to lead our After School Program for the 2025-2026 school year at Fletcher Elementary School in Cambridge, VT. As the Director, you will be the driving force behind every aspect of the operation of the Healthy Kids Program Site. Job status:
Part-Time, Non-Exempt Schedule:
2:30 pm – 6:00 pm Pay:
$18.00 – $20.00 per hour plus our employer-paid childcare benefit
Responsibilities
Guiding Compliance: Ensure that both staff and program adhere to state guidelines, Healthy Kids policies, and the rules set by the host school.
Bringing the Fun: Direct engaging hands-on activities based on the Healthy Kids Curriculum, covering fitness, STEAM, academics, arts, and more. Include homework completion as the program’s focus.
Managing Like a Boss: Oversee essential management tasks, including maintaining accurate attendance and registration records, and ensuring proper staffing levels to keep the program running smoothly.
Keeping Everyone in the Loop: Maintain open lines of communication with parents and family members through the Playground App.
Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with your direct report to ensure alignment on daily operations and address issues promptly. Foster a positive working environment and teamwork.
Education and Experience
Be at least eighteen years of age, possess a BA, BS or Associate degree, and meet at least one of the following:
At least ten months direct work experience with school-age children OR
Vermont On-the-Job Training certificate OR
Vermont Afterschool Professional Credential OR
Vermont Program Director Credential OR
Vermont Teacher Licensure OR
Master’s Degree in a youth-related field
Qualifications
Medical clearance to perform job duties and be free of communicable diseases including TB.
Warm, friendly, upbeat; strong people skills with kiddos, parents, and team members; professional, reliable, and punctual.
Ability to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs to keep up with energetic children.
