Overview
The Division of Neonatology at the University of Utah School of Medicine has an opening for an Academic Neonatologist. The Neonatologist will provide clinical care for neonatology patients with shared night call and weekend responsibilities at four Level III/IV NICUs: University Hospital, Primary Children's Hospital Salt Lake Campus, Primary Children's Miller Campus, and Intermountain Medical Center. The position includes initial expectation of approximately 18 weeks of clinical service annually and an active program in neonatal/neonatal-perinatal medicine with ongoing initiatives. Initial focus includes clinical care, education, scholarly activity, administration/service, and advocacy. The division supports research opportunities across bench, translational, and clinical areas and is a member of the NICHD Neonatal Research Network. Responsibilities
Provide clinical care for neonatology patients at four Level III/IV NICUs with shared night call and weekend duties. Engage in academic activities including education, investigation, administration/service, and advocacy. Pursue scholarly research individually or collaboratively, including grant development and presentations (written or oral) with mentoring support. Collaborate within the Division and across the medical school and University on research initiatives (bench, translational, and clinical). Supervise and teach neonatology fellows, pediatric residents, and medical students during inpatient service and clinics; participate in weekly Neonatal Grand Rounds. Possibility for cross-service teaching with other faculty, fellows, and healthcare providers depending on expertise and interests. Qualifications
Board Eligible/Board Certified in Pediatrics and in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. Excellent procedural and clinical skills, with ability to conduct research/scholarly activities. Faculty appointment offered in the Department of Pediatrics on the Clinical or Tenure track, commensurate with experience. Additionally
