Overview
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our leadership team. This individual will be responsible for driving financial strategy, planning, and operations across a fast-scaling, service-based infrastructure company. The CFO will partner directly with the CEO and executive team, bringing investor credibility, operational rigor, and a growth-stage mindset to help steer the company through its next phase of expansion. This is a full-time position based in Chicago, requiring a reliable on-site presence downtown and flexibility to travel nationally and internationally. Base pay
$197,000.00/yr - $392,000.00/yr Responsibilities
Develop, refine, and present financial and tax strategies to the CEO and Board. Lead financial planning & analysis (FP&A), including building models, forecasting GPU demand, and scaling infrastructure costs. Oversee cash flow, working capital, burn control, vendor negotiations, and company audits. Manage capital raising efforts, including venture, growth equity, debt, and strategic partnerships. Guide M&A activity, including diligence, structuring, and integration. Build and optimize finance systems, reporting infrastructure, and compliance frameworks across multi-state/multi-country operations. Translate complex GPU capacity, utilization, and cost structures into investor-ready metrics and board-level insights. Partner with the CEO, COO, and GC to align finance strategy with company growth. Build, scale, and mentor a lean but highly effective finance team. Qualifications
Proven CFO experience in a service-based company is required 7–10+ years of progressive finance leadership, with mastery of FP&A and capital strategy. Strong track record in fundraising (venture, growth equity, debt). Deep experience with financial operations: working capital, audits, compliance, and cash flow management. Exposure to M&A, buy-side diligence, and integration. Global tax and compliance expertise, with the ability to navigate multi-jurisdictional operations. Boardroom presence with the ability to simplify complex concepts for investors and executives. CPA or MBA preferred but not required. Must be Illinois-based, with availability for national and international travel. Benefits & Compensation
