The Product Manager will lead and oversee the development, implementation, and management of computing platform strategies and product management plans for Voyager’s Products team. This role is responsible for guiding products through their lifecycle and managing continual market release and support services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the space industry, a clear understanding of current product management practices, and a demonstrated track record of successful product improvement and strategy implementation. The Computing PLM will report to Voyager’s VP of Product Development. Responsibilities
Product Strategy and Development : Develop and implement the company\'s product strategy to support business goals. Lead and inspire the product team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. Oversee the development and execution of product projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Create and oversee product management & lifecycle plans for company products. Develop and execute a comprehensive product roadmap, prioritizing features and functionalities based on customer needs and market trends, driving consistent product innovation. Technical Expertise : Provide technical guidance on computing product design, including component selection, power & data interfaces, data protocols, and firmware and software architectures. Product Management, Market Research, Product Development, Cross-functional Collaboration, Data Analysis, and Project Management. Market Analysis and Research : Collaborate with executive leadership to define and prioritize product initiatives. Monitor and analyze market and industry trends to ensure the company remains competitive. Identify and evaluate product modification opportunities and their potential impact on the company/industry. Customer Feedback Integration : Actively gather customer feedback through surveys, focus groups, and support channels, incorporating critical insights into product iterations to enhance user experience and customer satisfaction. Innovation and Improvement : Identify and assess opportunities for innovation based on product knowledge. Assess and implement configuration changes across all in-scope products, ensuring they are strategically aligned with market trends, customer needs, and competitive advancements to maintain product relevance, desirability, and long-term success. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the product development team. Collaboration and Communication : Work closely with other departments to ensure product performance and initiatives align with business objectives. Communicate product strategy and progress to stakeholders, including the board of directors and investors. Foster strong relationships with customers, partners, and other external stakeholders. Additional Responsibilities : Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team by fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence, ensuring effective communication and coordination within the organization. Ensure effective recruiting, onboarding, professional development, performance management, and retention of multiple teams. At all times exemplify the core Values of Integrity, Respect, and Humility. Required Qualifications
10+ years of experience in the development of embedded computing products, such as single board computers, personality modules, video processors, power supplies, etc. 15+ years preferred. Familiar with modern embedded processors such as ARM, PowerPC, as well as FPGA. Minimum of 7 years of experience in product management roles, with at least 5 years in the Space industry. Prior experience developing space/defense computing products, including flight computers, mission/payload processing systems, storage devices. Bachelor\'s degree from a four-year college or university in engineering, systems engineering, or science required. Deep understanding of the Space market, including industry trends and regulatory requirements. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in advanced product management and software development methodologies. Experience with market analysis and competitive analysis.
