Overview

Financial Analysis Manager, Student Services — UT Southwestern Medical Center. Leadership role in the Student Services Finance Department, supervising a team of accountants, supporting the Bursar, and managing student financial operations in compliance with federal and institutional regulations. Focused on driving strategic initiatives to enhance the student financial experience and deliver accurate financial information to students and departments. Responsibilities

Lead and manage student accounting operations, including oversight of third-party billing, payment plans, refunds, leaves of absence, collections, and reconciliation processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with institutional policies and Title IV regulations. Supervise, train, and evaluate Student Accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and professional work environment that promotes continuous learning and high performance. Collaborate with Student Services areas (Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar, Student Center) and IT departments to support student success, streamline financial operations, and resolve account-related issues. Develop and implement strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing the student financial experience, including clear communication of billing procedures, payment deadlines, and available financial support options. Serve as a primary resource for students and academic departments, representing Student Accounting during orientations and providing guidance on financial matters throughout the student lifecycle. Manage and maintain Student Accounting website content and departmental communication channels, ensuring timely updates and accurate information dissemination through newsletters and promotional materials. Oversee student health insurance compliance, ensuring timely resolution of issues and adherence to UT System requirements and institutional standards. Provide financial support for all areas of UT Southwestern; develop multi-year cash flow projections; identify areas of financial risk, present findings, and make recommendations to management. Develop annual forecasts of capital needs and manage allocation of funds; plan, lead, coordinate, and manage budgeting and forecasting activities; evaluate, prioritize, assign and implement capital projects. Manage, direct, and plan evaluation of the company's financial performance; develop and recommend actions to achieve financial objectives; provide strategic consultation and guidance to management on financial issues; evaluate business proposals and create recommendations for optimizing financial impact on business initiatives. Manage financial analyst staff; complete complex projects as requested; perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Required Experience and Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field; 6 years of finance experience with demonstrated planning, forecasting, and financial analysis, plus analytical ability to understand complex financial activities of a Health System. Preferred: Master’s Degree in Business; additional experience as applicable. Benefits
