Executive Director of Enterprise Technology
to lead our institution-wide technology strategy. Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Strategic Initiatives, this role oversees infrastructure, enterprise systems, and instructional technologies across a dynamic, multi-campus environment. You’ll drive innovation, lead major initiatives like the optimization of Ellucian Banner SaaS, and foster a culture of service excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement—all in support of IRSC’s mission to expand student access, affordability, and success. Job Summary
Under the strategic direction of the Executive Vice President of Strategic Initiatives, the Executive Director of Enterprise Technology serves as the leader of Indian River State College’s information technology strategy. Provides strategic leadership and comprehensive oversight of all information technology functions, including infrastructure, enterprise applications, and instructional technologies across a diverse, multi-campus environment. Leads innovation initiatives while building on existing strengths to enhance institutional performance and elevate the College’s technology landscape—particularly through the implementation and optimization of Ellucian Banner SaaS. Promotes a culture centered on service excellence, responsiveness, accountability, and continuous improvement in alignment with Indian River State College’s mission of expanding student access, affordability, and success. Collaborates closely with students, faculty, and staff to ensure technology strategies are responsive to institutional priorities and user needs. Responsibilities
Service Orientation: Champions a user-centered approach by delivering responsive, high-quality technology services that support the needs of students, faculty, and staff. Collaborative Leadership: Builds strong, trust-based partnerships across departments and campuses to identify needs, resolve challenges, and implement effective, sustainable solutions. Strategic Vision: Aligns technology strategy with institutional priorities, with a focus on advancing student success, academic innovation, and operational efficiency. Operational Excellence: Ensures the reliability, performance, and security of IT systems, networks, and instructional technologies across all campuses. Change Management: Effectively leads teams and stakeholders through complex transitions—such as ERP system migrations—while minimizing disruption, promoting adoption, and achieving measurable outcomes. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills
Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS, or related field from a regionally accredited institution. Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in information technology leadership, including experience managing enterprise systems, infrastructure, and instructional technologies. Experience leading large-scale technology initiatives, including ERP implementations or transitions (e.g., Workday to Ellucian Banner SaaS). Proven ability to lead diverse teams and manage complex projects in a multi-campus or similarly complex environment. Strong understanding of IT governance, cybersecurity, data privacy, and compliance in a higher education setting. Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated commitment to service excellence and user-centered design. Experience in a community college or public higher education preferred. Active involvement in professional organizations such as EDUCAUSE, NACUBO, or similar preferred. Experience with instructional technology integration and support for academic innovation preferred. Physical Demands
This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as sedentary work involving lifting no more than 10 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like docket files, ledgers, and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally, and other sedentary criteria are met. Additional Expectations
