Senior Manager of Sterile Processing
is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing Sterile Processing operations at
Little Company of Mary Medical Center
in Torrance and San Pedro, CA. The position ensures the safety, sterility, and efficiency of instruments and equipment used in surgical and interventional procedures. The role reports to the
Executive Director of Perioperative Services
and leads strategic planning, operations, compliance, budgeting, and cross-functional collaboration with clinical and operational teams. Key Responsibilities
Lead, manage, and support Sterile Processing Departments at both Torrance and San Pedro facilities. Maintain collaboration with Perioperative, Interventional leadership, and clinical teams across South Bay Ministries. Develop and execute the strategic plan for Sterile Processing in alignment with hospital goals. Oversee regulatory compliance and ensure best practices in infection prevention and instrument processing. Supervise, train, and develop departmental staff. Manage operational budgets and ensure cost-effective departmental performance. Monitor and implement continuous improvement processes to maintain high-quality standards. Ensure instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, maintained, and available for all surgical and interventional procedures. Serve as a point of contact for physicians, executive leadership, and accreditation bodies. Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a Healthcare-related field (Required) Certification (any one of the following required upon hire): National Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) - HSPA National Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician - CBSPD National Certified Instrument Specialist - HSPA National Certified Surgical Instrument Specialist - CBSPD Experience: Minimum 7 years of work experience in Sterile Processing Minimum 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role within a hospital sterile processing department Minimum 3 years managing budgets and staff Demonstrated ability in staff development, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional leadership Ideal Candidate Will Have
